hi, i'm mik
yoga teacher, naturopathy student, cacao ceremony facilitator and someone who genuinely believes that movement, nature and a good belly laugh can change your life
i didn't grow up as a yoga person. i went to the odd class with friends back in 2018 and honestly found it a bit whatever
then 2020 happened. i'd moved to the uk on my own, and life went from auckland to bournemouth to covid lockdowns to losing my dad, grieving, alone, in a country that still felt foreign. i had a lot of time, a lot of pain, and nowhere to put it. so i rolled out a mat. and this time, something clicked
yoga became my lifeline. it was the thing that held me together when everything else felt uncertain and by the time the world opened back up again, i knew i wanted to share it
in 2023 i completed my 200hr teacher training in london and started teaching and i never really stopped. since then i've taught vinyasa, power, yin, hot yoga, slow flows, corporate classes and everything in between, to students in london, bulgaria, the philippines, and perth. in early 2025, just before coming home, i completed my 300hr training in india, deepening my connection to the roots of yoga and expanding everything i thought i already knew
now i'm back in perth, teaching and building something new. and somewhere between the mat and the textbooks, i've also fallen headfirst into naturopathy (which honestly feels like what i was put on this earth for)
my approach
i'm a former hairdresser, which tells you a lot about how i teach. i'm consultative, i'm tuned in, and i genuinely care about what's going on for you… not just what your body looks like in a pose
my classes are playful and inclusive, but also energising and grounding. i want yoga to feel like a challenge (a fun one) with space to breathe, to laugh, and to actually enjoy being in your body
something i bring that not everyone does: i'm hypermobile, which means i am learning first hand that more flexibility isn't always the goal. a lot of my teaching focuses on building strength alongside mobility, finding stability, not just stretch
this approach has changed my entire practice!
expect: breath reminders, the occasional terrible joke and class that aims to help you connect to your body
what yoga has given me
yoga has truly changed my life. it's helped me feel calmer, stronger, more focused, and more courageous than i ever have. it helped me grieve. it helped me heal. it helped me find myself again in the most unexpected of places
that's why i teach. because i've lived it and i want that for you too
what i teach
vinyasa · power · hot yoga · slow flow · corporate wellness · cacao ceremony
training completed in: london · perth · india
naturopathy (a new chapter)
i came to naturopathy the way i came to yoga: unexpectedly and completely. what started as curiosity has turned into a calling. i'm currently studying and what i'm learning about the body, plants, nutrition and holistic health feels like coming home in a whole new way
in time, i'll be weaving naturopathic support into everything I offer, because i believe the body and mind work together, always. for now, i'm deep in the study and loving every minute of it. if you want to follow the journey, come find me on instagram or join my mailing list for an inside scoop!
